About

Meet Annika

Born and raised in Soldotna, I've always had a deep love for music and for the community I call home. I enjoy helping students discover their own creativity and confidence at the piano. My goal is to create a positive, encouraging space where students of all ages can grow in skill and enjoy making music.

I'm an active member of the National Federation of Music Clubs (NFMC) and part of a local group of teachers who participate in the annual Festival each spring in Soldotna.

When I'm not teaching or playing piano, I love hiking around the Kenai Peninsula and spending time with my husband and our dog, Josie.

Curriculum

I teach from Alfred's Basic Piano Library and Piano Adventures as a foundation, while incorporating additional materials to strengthen music theory and technique.

Lessons are tailored to each student's interests and may include styles such as classical, jazz, blues, worship, hymns, pop, or country.

Musical Growth

Growth is at the heart of each lesson. Students build a strong foundation in technique, theory and artistry while learning to set goals, practice effectively and perform with confidence. Progress is steady, personalized and always celebrated.

"To play a wrong note is insignificant; to play without passion is inexcusable"

-- Beethoven

What You'll Learn

Lessons focus on building well-rounded musicianship through note reading, rhythm, technique and music theory. Students learn to practice effectively, perform with confidence and connect emotionally with the music they play.
